Our curriculum is academically challenging, interdisciplinary,
and fun.
Curriculum development at Bertschi is an ongoing process driven by
current research, faculty expertise, and fundamental academic objectives.
The foundation of our creative and engaging program is rooted in the
mastery of essential academic skills.
Bertschi teachers work collaboratively
to create learning experiences that integrate ideas and skills across
disciplines while addressing a variety of learning styles. Projects focus
on generating ideas, gaining skills, and finding solutions so children
can explore the dimensions of any given topic from many perspectives.
At Bertschi, children are actively engaged in hands-on projects, working
collaboratively with other students. The curriculum stimulates active
participation, encourages flexibility and independence and celebrates
the unique qualities of every student.
In conjunction with the construction
of the Bertschi Center in 2007, a LEED gold-certified (Leadership in Energy
and Environmental Design) building, there are exciting opportunities
for students and families to learn more about sustainable development
and environmental stewardship.
